The photos below were taken on June 2nd 2022. As you can see demolition of the Cary Towne Center is almost complete. Only one building remains at the former Belk entrance facing SE Maynard Rd.
The site is so massive that it’s hard to make out the demolition and material recycling equipment. As the building is demolished the components are separated and processed. In many cases the metals can be recycled and processed concrete can be used for fill material and aggregate in the new project.
I can’t wait to see what the Epic Games team accomplishes with their new headquarters location!
