The Eastern
Earlier this week I had the chance to tour the newest apartment tower at North Hills, The Eastern.
The Eastern is the tallest building in Raleigh by number floors at 36-stories, but is edged out in overall height by PNC Plaza at 538 feet compared to 354 feet for The Eastern.
Because The Eastern is so much taller than the surrounding buildings at North Hills, on the upper floors, you have unobstructed views in all directions. The views are breathtaking.
Lobby to Penthouse
For my tour I started in the impeccably designed lobby and leasing center and then took the express elevator up to the top floors to see the upper amenity level and one of the penthouse units.
Upper Amenity Level
The upper amenity area has indoor and outdoor lounge and entertaining space. On the outdoor sky deck they also have grilling stations.
Lower Amenity Level
Next I stopped at the lower amenity level that includes the pool deck, gym, and spa room with sauna. The pool deck also has grilling stations as well as decked out cabanas and other social gathering spots. From my days in multifamily development I have always been a fan of fitness center design and the gym at The Eastern doesn’t disappoint.
I was told years ago that when touring properties you should always check out the bathrooms, the bathrooms are a good indication of the quality of the rest of the development. Here, The Eastern also shines, they have hands free flushing mechanisms that simply require a wave.
Model Unit and Art
After the lower level amenity area I popped into a two-bedroom model unit.
One final note about design. Kane Realty did a fantastic job with art. There is awesome art throughout the property including some from local artists. You can tell a lot of time and attention was put into art selection.
Conclusion
It was a quick tour, but I left absolutely stunned. The Eastern definitely sets a high bar for multifamily projects in The Triangle.
