One of my favorite things in the world is seeing people come together to discuss (and then act on) the built environment.

Starting July 24th (my birthday!), in situ studio will be bringing the Real Matter Lecture Series back to the Transfer Co. Ballroom.

Real Matter

Real Matter is a two-week application-based design workshop hosted by in situ for students and unlicensed architects from across the country. The Real Matter class of 2021 included 18 participants from six states and eight universities.

As part of the workshop in situ also hosts a free to the public lecture series. The lectures are free, but you must register for a ticket. You can register here.

The lectures include:

  • 7/24 – State of the City with Jonathan Melton, Raleigh City Council
  • 7/25 – Think Local with a Panel of Raleigh Thought Leaders
  • 7/27 – Johanna Hurme with 5468796 architecture, Winnipeg
  • 7/28 – David Seiter with Future Green Studio, NYC
  • 7/29 – Neraj Bhatia with The Open Workshop, Toronto and SF
  • 8/01 – Ifeoma Ebo with Creative Urban Alchemy, NYC
  • 8/02 – Hector Barroso with Taller Hector Barroso, Mexico City

I hope to see you there!
